This Self Efficacy Test Will Help You Reach Your Inner Strength!
So, hy should you take a self efficacy test? Well...first lets answer a more urgent question! ;-) Let me first answer the question: "What is self efficacy?
Self efficacy is defined as the - "belief in one's own ability to perform a task." In other words, it's how much you believe in being able to accomplish a goal.
What goal are you frustrated with? Maybe the reason nothing has been happening for you is because you don't believe that you can accomplish it!
That's why I recommend taking an instant self efficacy test! Understand that reaching your goal is in your power! For this self efficacy test there are three parts that equally influence you more than you know!
They are:
Your social circle of friends.
What you're influencing yourself with.
How you see your past.
Part 1 - You and Yur Friends
1/ Have your friends accomplished the goal that you want for yourself?
A - Yes (3 points)
B - Sometimes (2 points)
C: - No (1 point)
2/ Do your friends encourage and show support when you talk about accomplishing your goal?
A - Yes (3 points)
B - Sometimes (2 points)
C: - No (1 point)
3/ Do you think you believe you can achieve your goal?
A - Yes (3 points)
B - Sometimes (2 points)
C: - No (1 point)
7-9: You have a good set of friends and support groups that upgrade your self efficacy. You also have a strong belief about being able to accomplish your goal. At this point just keep going through the process and you'll be fine!
4-6: You might have some friends that have accomplished the goal and believe that you can do it for yourself. Hang out with them more! You'll believe that you too can realize that goal.
0-3: What is holding you back from accomplishing the goal is that you are not surrounded by friends who have made it happen for themselves. Not good! :( I suggest looking within your social group or family members and finding someone who has accomplished that goal!
2 - You and Your Environment
1/ Do you watch T.V. shows or documentaries that are about the goal you want to accomplish?
A - Yes (3 points)
B - Sometimes (2 points)
C: - No (1 point)
2/ Do you read books about your goal?
A - Yes (3 points)
B - Sometimes (2 points)
C: - No (1 point)
3/ Do you go to forums that help people accomplish that goal?
A - Yes (3 points)
B - Sometimes (2 points)
C: - No (1 point)
7-9: You are surrounding yourself with "input" that is boosting your self efficacy! Not only are you feeding your mind with the right stuff but you're also committing to achieving this goal.
4-6: You believe that you can accomplish your goal and take in messages from your environment to build your self efficacy. You can get more out it by cutting back on things that aren't helping. Of course, you need to maintain your work-life balance and do what you can.
0-3: By not feeding your mind with the input it needs to build self efficacy, you are starving the most important thing you need to accomplish your goal. This is hurting you more than you know.
I strongly recommend tuning out of the "input" that isn't helping you for a while (90 days is a good amount of time!) After that you are welcome to go back to your old habits (or try to!) ;-)
3 - You and Your Past
1/ Do you worry about the future?
A - Yes (3 points)
B - Sometimes (2 points)
C: - No (1 point)
2/ Do you have pictures of your past accomplishments?
A - Yes (3 points)
B - Sometimes (2 points)
C: - No (1 point)
3/ Have your ever accomplished a goal you set for yourself in the past?
A - Yes (3 points)
B - Sometimes (2 points)
C: - No (1 point)
7-9: You have a solid mindset for accomplishing your goal. You arm yourself with your past successes and are able to let them propel you into achieving your future goal. This iron-clad belief is the essence of self efficacy. Good for you and keep going towards that goal! ;-)
4-6: You have had successes in the past and you think about them from time to time. No one has taught you how to take control of your previous success and let them build your self efficacy for a better life.
Look around your place and you're bound to find things (like pictures, medals, souvenirs) that remind you of past successes. Put them together and make a "success area".
Don't worry about your friends think! Right now you're boosting your self efficacy and you'll be glad you did! ;-)
0-3: You are not aware of your past successes and that's a big reason why you don't think you'll succeed! Look back at your life and remember all the things you've accomplished for yourself.
For example when we were children learning how to walk, tie our shoes, etc...we were accomplishing goals. How big the accomplishment is doesn't matter.
What matters is remembering and accepting that you are the one who made it happen! :)
What to Make of The Self Efficacy Test!
How did you like the self efficacy test? Did it teach you something about yourself? If you scored highly on the test then you can rest easy - your self efficacy is high and you will accomplish your goal (as long as you stick to the process!)
